About HK P7 Holsters

HK P7 holsters can be divided into four categories by use: Duty holsters (worn by police uniformed officers and security), Tactical holsters (worn by military, security and law enforcement), Concealment holsters (worn by peace officers, private persons) and Sporting holsters (worn for shooting sports, hunting). Choosing the proper HK P7 holster for your handgun is just as important as choosing the right handgun to fit your needs. Now is not time to get cheap, your HK P7 is only as good as the ability to bring it into action when necessary. Just as in handguns, all HK P7 holsters will not fit every need or situation that may come up.

HK P7 holsters are manufactured in a variety of materials including leather, nylon, kydex and in a variety of combinations. Carrying on the strong side hip is considered to tactically be the best way to carry your handgun. Other popular choices of HK P7 holster are: shoulder holster, ankle holster, small of the back, fanny packs and other off-body carry options. It is also advied to check available holster options when you plan to purchase a new handgun. HK P7 Information

The Heckler & Koch Company started a development of a new self-loaded pistol with compact size and enhanced safety features in about 1971. After several years of prototyping and experiments, the PSP (Police Self-loading Pistol) was introduced. The pistol was dedicated for a West German Police and several police departments in Germany had adopted the PSP model as the P7. Series production of the P7 lasted from 1979 until 2008. The P7 pistol is also well known as the "squeeze cocker." The "squeezable" part of the pistol was a front grip that allowed to be safely carried with a round in the chamber. In the next few years, the Heckler &Koch Company brought up an updated version of the P7, the P7M8. The P7M8 featured a relocated magazine release ("American" style instead of "European" style), an enlarged trigger guard and a heat shield inside the trigger guard that contained the gas-delayed cylinder. This model has been widely used by the New Jersey State Police (USA) up today. There were more production variants of the P7's breed such as P7M13. The P7M13 contained double stack magazines with 13 rounds. Last variant of the P7 was the P7M10 chambered with more power .40SW cartridge, which appeared in 1991. The original P7 model has an overall length of 6.5 inches, barrel length of 4.1 inches and weights 785g. The P7 pistol was built around gas-delayed blowback system that maintained great accuracy, but also required more frequent cleaning of the inner parts. The pistol had no manual safeties. It used a striker-fired mechanism, which was cocked for the first shot and for all next shots. Sights of the pistol incorporated the classic easy-to-see three white dots. The P7 was firstly produced just by H&K; later on also under license by the Greek defense firm Hellenic Arms Industry and by the Mexican Departamento de Industria Militar (DIM) as a sidearm for general officers and staff. This model was also exported to many different countries. The pistol is known for its low barrel and slim profile, which makes it more accurate, reliable and easily concealable with a strong basis of the following shooters.
